Project Open Hand serves healthy, nutritious bags of groceries to clients on a weekly basis.  These bags include staples like fresh fruits and vegetables, dried beans, rice, eggs, milk, cheese, tuna, tofu, and peanut butter – a client favorite.  Because peanut butter is such a popular choice among our clients, we decided to start grinding our own.  The peanuts used in Project Open Hand peanut butter are grown in the United States and are ground fresh every day by our dedicated volunteers.  By grinding our own peanut butter, Project Open Hand reduces per unit cost by forty percent and produces a much healthier alternative for our clients.  Our peanut butter is all natural, trans-fat free, and contains ONE ingredient – peanuts!  Typically, commercial peanut butters contain added ingredients like sugars, salt, and hydrogenated oils.  Thus, our clients receive healthier and tastier peanut butter.

Our peanut butter is now available to the Bay Area community. Proceeds from each peanut butter purchase benefit Project Open Hand’s meal and nutrition services and raise awareness about our organization and our mission.

If you would like to purchase a tub of peanut butter directly from Project Open Hand, please send us an email or call us at 415-447-2315.
