Wall of Honor

Thursday, May 8, 2008, Project Open Hand was pleased to induct another generous partner, The Avon Foundation, onto our Wall of Honor. The Wall of Honor now features eleven silver, lacquered plates, each displaying the logos of our donors. The funders featured on the wall are longtime supporters of Project Open Hand who have given operating funds. ChevronTexaco
ChevronTexaco has been a generous supporter of Project Open Hand for many years. In fact, ChevronTexaco provided the funds for the first truck that Ruth Brinker used to deliver meals, and donated many gallons of gas for the use of the vehicle.

MAC AIDS Fund
The MAC AIDS Fund raises money for HIV/AIDS service organizations through the sale of MAC Cosmetic's Viva Glam Lipstick. Proceeds of the Viva Glam lipstick go entirely to the MAC AIDS Fund.

The Wells Fargo Foundation
Wells Fargo has been named the top Corporate Philanthropist in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times. They have been generous donors to Project Open Hand for many years.

The Gap Foundation
The Gap Foundation has always been a generous supporter of Project Open Hand. The Gap Foundation was one of the major contributors to the capital campaign for the 730 Polk building.

Macy's West
Macy's West has been a very generous donor throughout the history of Project Open Hand, including donating towards the Polk Street capital campaign.

Altria Group, Inc.
Altria has been a generous donor to Project Open Hand since 1989, giving largely through their Positive Helpings grant initiative. Altria has also been instrumental in establishing and providing support to ANSA, the Association of Nutrition Services Agencies.

Levi Strauss & Co.
Levi Strauss is one of Project Open Hand's very first corporate supporters, making grants to Project Open Hand since 1987. In addition to their generous grant support, Levi's has contributed through their employee volunteers.

J.P. Morgan Chase
J.P. Morgan Chase has been donating to Project Open Hand since 1988.

Kaiser Permanente
Kaiser Permanente began giving to Project Open Hand in 1986. In addition to funding, Project Open Hand has also had Kaiser staff serve on our Board of Directors for several years.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has been giving to Project Open Hand since 1988.

Avon Foundation
The Avon Foundation began giving to Project Open Hand in 2005.

Project Open Hand's 730 Polk Street facility in honor of the Avon Foundation's induction onto the Wall of Honor. The banners displayed are signed each year by the walkers near the end of the 2-day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
