The goal of our new Food for Life Campaign is to contribute substantially toward the $300,000 in additional annual funding necessary to meet new challenges, such as: Meeting the changing nutritional needs of our HIV/AIDS clients, many of whom are aging and facing new complications Extending services to people homebound with other serious illnesses-such as breast cancer, heart disease and diabetes - for the duration of their illness Helping seniors who need home-delivered meals while they are on waiting lists from other food agencies. Keeping up with the dramatic rise in food costs Making capital improvements to our Polk Street facility, after 10 years there "With our new strategic plan, we decided to expand and strengthen our commitment to all the clients we serve, to the fullest extend possible," says Tom Nolan, POH Executive Director. "That will require new fundraising initiatives, including raising large gifts from individuals who are especially interested in investing in our future."
