GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Project Open Hand, a leader in the provision of nutrition services to people living with symptomatic HIV & AIDS, seniors and the homebound with critical illness seeks a Temporary Driver. Duties include delivering meals and products to our clients.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:• Drive Project Open Hand Vans to deliver meals and groceries to various distribution locations and drop sites daily.
• Deliver extra routes not covered by volunteers daily.
• Retrieve equipment used in deliveries as needed.
• Prepare route sheets for delivery volunteers as needed.
• Assist Volunteers and Dispatcher with deliveries.
• Work in other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two years experience driving large vans or trucks.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
• Valid California drivers license and excellent driving record.
• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency with the English language (spoken and written).
• Ability to work occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proven ability to work as part of a cohesive team in a fast paced and changing environment with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
• Proven ability to be a team player.
• Excellent personal and professional references.
• Attention to detail.
• Sensitivity to the circumstances and needs of people living with HIV/AIDS, critical illness and seniors.
