TITLE: On-call Senior Site Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Programs - Senior Lunch Program
REPORTS TO: Senior Sites Manager
LOCATION: Various Senior Lunch Program Sites
BENEFITS: No
STATUS: On-call, Part-time, non-exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Project Open Hand, the world's largest provider of nutrition services to people living with symptomatic HIV & AIDS, also serves nutritious noon-time meals to seniors at congregate sites throughout San Francisco. The On-call Senior Site Coordinator substitutes for a meal site's regular weekday or weekend coordinator.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:- Administers food service program in accordance with OOA Standards and Manual of Operations, which will be provided through on-going training.
- Recruits, trains, coordinates, and supervises volunteers in all phases of food service program, including preparation for the receiving of meals, serving, and clean-up.
- Manages consumable supply inventory and food service equipment.
- Interviews new participants and informs them of site, meal service and donation procedures.
- Assesses site’s food service needs and monitors changing trends.
- Responsible for participant records, daily meal statistics & donations.
- Coordinates monthly reports on the nutrition education classes held at site and other Senior Lunch Program statistics.
- Assures that the site’s meal service atmosphere is supportive, safe, sanitary, attractive, and as pleasing as possible.
- Assesses and handles all emergencies and crisis intervention.
- Maintains a close working relationship with the Host Agency.
- Attends Staff Meetings and Training Sessions when instructed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in Human Service Programs.
- Proven leadership and decision making skills.
- Record keeping abilities.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification preferred, but not required.
- Sensitivity to the needs and circumstances of older people.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
