Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

The Avon Foundation has been a strong supporter of our breast cancer services and this year, you can be part of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The Avon Walk is either a marathon walk (26.2 miles) or a marathon and a half over two days. You can either walk and raise funds for breast cancer by collecting pledges, or you can sponsor a participant or volunteer. Visit www.avonwalk.org for details. On November 14, 2009 at 9:30 am in San Francisco, Project Open Hand is partnering with Marathon Matt to launch Team Open Hand, a training/fundraising program to benefit Project Open Hand and concludes with completion of the Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon on Sunday, February 10, 2010.There is no cost, but participants commit to raising $1300 for Project Open Hand. 14th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival

The 14th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival, a benefit for POH, will host more than 30 booths each day featuring a variety of chocolate delicacies from some of the best Bay Area restaurants and bakeries. The event is free and open to the public. Chocolate tasting tickets must be purchased to sample chocolate.
