Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2009
July 11-12, 2009

Over 70 Project Open Hand staff members and volunteers were out in full force to cheer on over 2,800 walkers for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on July 11th and 12th. Walkers from all around the country gathered in San Francisco to walk 39.3 miles over the course of the weekend and raised over $6 million dollars to advance access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer.

Project Open Hand cheer teams were stationed at 9 different stops along the route and passed out Project Open Hand stickers, scrumptious chocolate chip cookies baked in our own kitchen and invited walkers to write a message on our banner that will be displayed in our offices throughout the year.
