Project Open Hand/SF Giants Plate to Plate 5K Run/Walk Across Home Plate
Sunday, August 12, 2007

Project Open Hand and the San Francisco Giants held its first annual Plate to Plate 5K Run/Walk presented by AT&T on Sunday, August 12, 2007. Over 2,300 participants came out to participate and raise funds for Project Open Hand. CSAA was our top team fundraiser raising an amazing $8,792 and received the Giants’ autographed Home Plate from the August 12th game in recognition of their great accomplishment. Cristina Solorio was our top individual fundraiser with a total fundraised amount of $3,490! The event raised an incredible $300,000 for our meal and nutrition services.

Congratulations to all who participated and fundraised for POH! We look forward to seeing you on August 24, 2008 for the second annual Plate to Plate 5K Run/Walk.

At 9 a.m. sharp, the starter gun was fired and the Plate to Plate runners and walkers were off to a terrific start on their 5 K journey.

Over 2,300 participants came out to take part and raise funds for Project Open Hand.

After venturing down the Embarcadero to the Ferry Building, the runners headed back to AT&T Park.

During the post race festival Plate to Plate participants enjoyed food and goodies from local vendors and event corporate sponsors, and music from the very talented Miko Marks.

Each participant had the unique opportunity to run, walk or slide across Home Plate.
