Project Open Hand - Ryan White CARE Act Reauthorization

Update: Ryan White CARE Act Reauthorization (May 30, 2006)

One of the amendments called for by the Administration in the reauthorization of the Ryan White CARE Act requires 75% of all funds to be spent only on core medical services. If Congress accepts this amendment, funding for support services essential to health and well-bring, such as food and housing, could be drastically reduced or eliminated entirely. So it's important that Project Open Hand, similar agencies around the country, and ordinary people like you speak out about how crucial nutrition is to quality HIV/AIDS care.

The Ryan White CARE Act Amendments of 2006 are currently in committee in both the House and Senate, and the bill's status is changing every day.
