Help Fill Our Most Urgent Needs
We need you as much as ever! If you are healthy and can volunteer, we need your help in providing meals to our critically ill neighbors and seniors during the COVID-19 crisis.
On Tuesday, March 17, San Francisco issued a Public Health Order requiring people to stay home except for essential needs. Necessary government functions and essential services, including non-profits that provide crucial services, will continue to operate. We are open and will continue to serve the sick and vulnerable in our community. We are adhering to the recommended guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing.
We are taking precautions to prioritize staff and volunteer safety and we ask that volunteers follow the governor’s recommendation for those 65 and older or vulnerable to COVID-19 to practice home isolation. Read more about the current recommendations for vulnerable populations here. 中文 | Español
At Project Open Hand, we rely on more than 125 volunteers every day to help prepare, package and deliver meals with love, and distribute groceries to sick and elderly neighbors. Volunteers also help us staff special events throughout the year.
We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved in San Francisco and the East Bay.
