Join Project Open Hand this Holiday season in providing meals with love to our sick and the elderly neighbors.


Please review our guidelines before signing up for a shift. 
  • Vaccine Requirement: Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to your scheduled shift or in-person on the day of your shift.
  • Health Guidelines: Check your health prior to arriving to your scheduled shift and wear a mask at all times. If you feel sick, please stay home.
  • Minimum Age Requirement: 15 years old

Serve Meals to Seniors

Volunteer tasks include plating food in the kitchen, serving clients their meals, and maintaining the cleanliness of the meal site.


Deliver Meals

Volunteers assist with packing out and delivering meals to homebound clients outside of the Tenderloin Neighborhood using their personal vehicle. The volunteer driver must be a fully licensed and insured in the state of California and have a safe and registered vehicle in good working order. 


Off-Site Volunteer Opportunities

Create Holiday Cards 

Create holiday cards to help is celebrate Project Open Hand clients this season. We accept handmade cards of all shapes and sizes with positive, uplifting, and non-denominational messages. Learn more here.

Host a Toiletry Drive 

Help provide essential items that are often financially out of reach to our low income, chronically ill clients. We accept new, unopened items such as shampoo, body wash, and deodorant. Learn more here.
